Remove foot from digg’s balls, proceed with step
Digg seems to have offended the oh-so-fickle MySpace generation with their censorship of the HD-DVD serial crack whatever.
The site has been literally flooded with various uses of the hexadecimal code that can unlock HD-DVD. You know what else can unlock HD-DVD? Buying the fucking disc.
Guess what? It’s not censorship and Kevin Rose doesn’t owe you an apology. It’s a business protecting their interests.
It’s got even less real news than usual, which I thought was actually impossible. The front page is dominated by this crap, the most popular stories are dominated by this crap, and the upcoming stories are dominated by this crap.
Way to throw a tantrum guys!
Kids are crying in every corner of the internet because their beloved site is *gasp* a business, and as a *gasp* business, they don’t want to offend current, past and future advertisers, and as a *gasp* business they don’t want to be in the “grey” area of legality.
So please kids, continue with your lives and get over it. You’ve got the code, you’ve written it down, you’ve posted it everywhere with a text box.
Remove your foot from digg’s balls and step the fuck on. If you don’t like the way they handle their *gasp* business, go somewhere else. If they banned you, make a new account. If they blocked your IP, use a proxy.
Please carry on with life. The world’s still turning, real news is still being reported, and there are more important issues in this world than whether or not your favourite site is allowing the same code to be re-posted over and over and over again.
Can someone please go install Ubuntu and blog about it? I never thought I’d ask that …
I’d rather be a whiny emo myspace teen than an old fogey who gets into tantrums over something that is beyond control.

I’m not sure if you’re calling me or digg’s users an “old fogey” … judging by the immaturity consistently shown by digg users I’m guessing you’re calling me old?
I’m on the cool side of 30 – barely. That ain’t old champ.
As for “something that is beyond control” … the digg crowd isn’t beyond control, they demonstrate every day how easily they and the flow of information on the site can be controlled and manipulated.
Unless you meant they’re beyond self control?
